CRISTINA CARIVEAU, LMT
Growing up a ballet dancer, Cristina learned the more grace we have for our bodies, the better we know how to care for our whole being. Her journey with massage began with her interest in female health and how this understanding can be applied to increase self-confidence, rehabilitate injuries and amplify physical performance. With her background in massage therapy, Medical Science and further training in lymphatic wellness, prenatal, and postnatal massage, she is excited to be on the Restore + Revive team serving women. Cristina views life and living as miraculous, and she is honored to share her gift of massage.

The lymphatic system is the recycler and the garbage disposal, and it runs hand in hand with our circulatory system to identify waste products and expel them. In sum, the lymphatic system is crucial to our overall wellness, and it is vastly under-treated!
Lymphatic wellness massage includes relaxing massage identified to areas of need or just for general wellness to boost the lymph system, assisting in toxin disposal and heightened immunity.

Massage during and after pregnancy is a safe and special way to nurture both mother and baby. In addition to the general benefits of bodywork, prenatal massage enhances connection with baby, prepares mind and body for smoother labor and delivery and balances the changes your body experiences.
In the postpartum period, massage can speed recovery time, improve posture, reduce your risk of postpartum depression and benefit breastfeeding efforts. After baby is born, infant massage is an invaluable tool we empower you to learn to support baby’s development, immune health and social skills.

Deep tissue massage uses elbow and forearm pressure to improve circulation and directly reduce muscle tension. Trigger point therapy is within this realm- targeting specific muscle points that may be localizing pain or referring it to another area of the body. Sometimes a deep tissue massage may leave you feeling sore the following day. This is typical as your muscles have been manually stretched and compressed. During your massage, we will communicate the pressure that is deep enough for you. It is also important to keep hydrated before and after your session.

Sports massage aims to serve athletes of all levels! Sessions are focused on injury prevention, scar tissue adhesions, warmup/cooldown, and preventing delayed onset muscle soreness. Depending on the goals of the client, pressure can range from medium-deep. There is an emphasis on tapotement (tapping), friction, and mobility techniques. Pre-exercise, the goal of massage is to revitalize and stimulate the muscles to prime and prepare your body for efficient performance. Post-exercise, massage can be a great way to decrease physical/mental stress and reduce delayed onset muscle soreness, giving you an intentional and efficient recovery period before it’s game on
